About us

Our association, its activities, and its scope of intervention.

Born from a group of ordinary citizens and business owners from Mestre, the Pro Loco Mestre was formed in the summer of 2018, with an initial, yet unofficial, core group leading the San Girolamo in Festa event.

The association was formed in response to a need felt by citizens to enhance and protect the city's culture and historical-cultural heritage, closely linked to that of Venice but so often overshadowed by the grandeur of the lagoon city.

Our scope is vast: from organizing events to volunteering among citizens; from developing means of disseminating "Mestrinità" (Mestrinity) to creating a collection of historical heritage in the area.

Within the UNPLI-Unione Nazionale Pro Loco d'Italia network, our group presents itself as an APS-Associazione di Promozione Sociale (CF 90184160274), a non-profit volunteer organization managed separately from local authorities, with whom we naturally collaborate on many aspects.

This website aims to showcase our activities and connect with the citizens, with whom, and for whom, we aim to improve the experience of living in the city.

Statute and organization

As a Pro Loco association, we have had to abide by the rules set forth in the Regulations for the Exercise of Functions Regarding Pro-Loco Associations, issued by the Province of Venice - Tourism Sector.

As with any initiative involving so many different people, it was necessary to immediately establish common rules and establish a clear and transparent organizational structure through our Statute.
